FAQ
Questions, answered.
What does Passepartout actually do?
You name every airport you can realistically reach — by train, bus, or a friend with a car — and Passepartout searches flights out of all of them at once, then shows you the cheapest way to your destination, cheapest first. The airport you usually book from is just a habit; often a nearby one is far cheaper.
Is it free?
Yes, and it’s built to stay that way. There’s no subscription, no paywall, and no “premium” tier. We don’t take a cut of your booking either.
Do I need to create an account?
No. There’s no sign-up and no login. We don’t want your email address and we don’t build a profile on you.
Can I book a flight in the app?
No — Passepartout is a finder, not a travel agency. Once you pick a route, we hand you off to a third-party booking site to complete the purchase. We never handle your payment and never see a cent of your money.
Are the prices guaranteed?
No. Flight prices change constantly and availability can disappear between a search and a booking. We show the best estimate we can find at the moment you search; the final price is always whatever the airline or booking site charges at checkout. Always confirm the details before you pay.
What data do you collect about me?
As little as possible. There’s no account and no advertising tracking following you around the internet. The searches you run are processed to return results, not to build a profile. See the Privacy Policy for the full detail.
Why is the cheapest flight ranked first — is it sponsored?
No. Nobody can pay to jump the queue. The list is sorted by price (and the journey that gets you there), full stop. We don’t accept money to promote a particular airline or route.
How does it find the flights?
Passepartout is built with the help of the open-source fast-flights library, which queries publicly available flight data. We’re grateful to its maintainers.
I need to change or cancel a booking. Can you help?
We can’t — because we never held your booking. Any changes, cancellations, or refunds must go through the airline or the booking site where you paid.
I found a bug or have an idea. How do I reach you?
Please email [email protected]. It’s a one-person project, so I read everything myself. See the Support page for what to include.
